Tragic Accident on Alexandria-Cairo Desert Road Claims 15 Lives, Injures 7

Eyewitnesses and security sources have reported a devastating accident involving a truck-trailer and four passenger microbuses, resulting in a fiery collision. The incident occurred in the Amreya area, near the Fish Resources Bridge and the Free Zone.

Swift Response from Emergency Services

Security forces, along with 10 ambulances and fire engines, quickly responded to the scene of the accident. Upon arrival, it was evident that the trailer had collided with the microbuses, causing significant damage. One of the vehicles caught fire, adding to the severity of the situation.

Injuries and Treatment

An initial inspection revealed the harrowing extent of the damage, with one of the microbuses crushed by the trailer, trapping victims inside. Seven individuals sustained injuries, including fractures, suspected post-concussion symptoms, and brain bleeding. They were promptly transported to Amreya General Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Handling of Fatalities

Tragically, fatalities were reported from the scene of the accident. The bodies of the deceased were carefully removed and distributed among three hospitals: Amreya General Hospital, al-Qabbari, and al-Ajami, under the supervision of the Public Prosecution.

Authorities have initiated legal procedures surrounding the incident. A report has been filed at the Amreya Police Department, with further investigations underway by the Public Prosecution to determine the cause and circumstances of the collision.
